| Dear Min. Bob,
Many think that enough time exists in their lives to take on a relationship with God, later. This flies in the face of what is written.
* The return of Jesus will be quick. That is it may come at a time when you did not expect to die, or the world will be lulled into believing things are going along as normal. Scripture says "It will be like in the days of Noah" That is people will make fun of those proclaiming it, except after it happens.
* With the return of Jesus, you will receive judgement. If you chose Jesus in your life and did good, heavenly rewards await you. If not, hellish rewards await you. Now think about this for a minute. If you were God, wouldn't you want a place surrounded by people who chose to be with you, not that you forced?
Yes, it is that simple. So why do so many people resist? They need a change in heart toward God. God tells us that only the Holy Spirit can do that by:
* Them realizing that they have sinned.
* Realizing that Jesus came to erase those sins through His love for them.
* They can have it all with a simple prayer to God recognizing these things and asking Him for forgiveness and inviting the Holy Spirit to come into them and their lives.
Something that simple and declaring it, gets the ball rolling. May each of us realize this, and may we love our fellow man enough to pass it on to him or her. |

| Dear Min. Bob,
You may think today's message is odd. What is the difference if "church" is capitalized or not? It can make all the difference in your eternal world. Why? Because it may mean you are following something or someone other than Christ.
If you are going to "Church" today. You are probably going to a building of some denomination. Maybe you even hold that denomination above Christ. Or maybe you hold the preacher above Christ. What do I mean?
Well, if you are following a denomination, you would not go to any other Church, particularly one not of that denomination. Not even on vacation.
Or maybe if the preacher died, you would not go anymore or would look elsewhere.
You see, if you are going to "church" instead of "Church", you probably have a personal relationship with Jesus and at that it is Him first. You can go to almost any church or hear almost any preacher and still glean the good out of it. In this church, we CAN be one body and in unity as the Scripture says. In the "Church" we cannot except maybe among ourselves.
The point is this. ONLY Christ paid the price for you. No preacher, no denomination, besides all their claims, did.
Now what if you don't go to church at all. Shame on you! You are weaker than you thought. There are enough around to please anyone. God says not to forsake the Assembly of the Saints. Why? Because we need each other to help each other along in life. How many does it take? Contrary to what some may say, God says "Where ever two or three are gathered in my name, I will be among them." See you can even have "church" at home.
Let us them redouble our efforts to be at "church" and functioning as a "church" even if it is only two or three of us to start. If the early Christians had to meet at least every "first day of the week" as they put it, how could we do any less?

In Thursday's message I connected being a Christian with being an encourager. Some may ask "But what about when I have to correct someone?" Well in the biggest corrections of all, God did not change his pattern. Kindly look with me. As God showed John in his vision of that we call 'Revelation' he writes to Churches that actually existed at the time. Let us look at how he started out with each for a minute:
* Ephesus: "I know that you cannot tolerate wicked men..."
* Smyrna: " I know your afflictions ...yet you are rich!"
* Pergamum: "You remain true in my name."
* Thyatira: "I know your...love,faith, perseverance ..."
* Sardis: "I know you have the reputation of being alive..."
* Philadelphia: "have kept my command to endure patiently..."
Do you see the pattern? Encouragement first before these most wrathful corrections. The only Church, the last one, did not receive the compliment first. They were "luke warm". 'Milk toast' Christians. This apparently is the worst thing we can be.
Let us not be like them, let us be 'hot' to compliment and encourage first. Even when we have to correct another. Let God be our example here too!
A great example for better use of our tongues. ... and guess what psychologists today, agree with God on this! |

| Dear Min. Bob,
Where did our freedom come from? God writes to the Galatian Christians that, for Christians it came from Him and is to be used rightly. It particularly is not to foster man's sinful nature, but rather serving one another in love.
Someone asked me, "Then what happened to this country?". It is a good question but shows the lack of understanding of God allowing us to have free will. That is the freedom to choose right from wrong. Man, without God makes many wrong or sinful choices. It seems that when tragedy happens, like flight 370, like the mudslides in Washington, the non-believers are quick to say "Where is your God now?". They do not understand man's choices.
While we do not have complete comprehension of God's principle here, let us be the ones who act out in love, and quite frankly become known for that. Please Lord help us each in this way today!

| Dear Min. Bob,
Everyone says "Watch Out It's April Fools Day", a time to pull jokes on people. However, fooling with a person's soul is no joke. Imagine you made it to heaven, then a person, you did not tell about Jesus died. How would you face them? What could you say to appease them if they did not make it? Would it not be selfish of you for not telling them?
Kindly allow me to share with you for a minute. This new format for my emails provided to me by Constant Contact in addition to getting by filters put up by your internet provider, also gives me reports. The one that hurts the most is those who unsubscribe, some are really good they put "too many emails", "too busy at Church" etc. etc. but when an old friend does, one who needs Christ just as much as anyone, I hurt for him and I hurt for Christ.
I believe this is the attitude that you should have too. We all need to spread the Word before it's too late. The Scriptures today tell us that we must be bold, yet we must be courteous. Yet, Jesus Himself proclaims the only way is to be 'born again'. Some so called spiritual leaders debate these words of Jesus. But did they die for you? Did they pay the price? What would they say to you if you did not make it?
Jesus said something else that perplexed the un-converted. He said "The time is coming and is already at hand", for people to make this decision. While that perplexes scholars, the simple and converted know it means the end of this age is coming, but for some, today is the day for you to choose.
Don't let your friends down on this April Fools Day. Tell them about something serious and loving today. Protect their eternal existence. And may you enjoy their company in heaven.

|  Christian Politician Willing To Go To Jail

I believe this is a fundamental [right] of American[s] and if we cease to believe that our rights come from God, we cease to be America. We've been told to be careful. But we're going to be careful all the way to communism if we don't start standing up and saying 'no.'" -Robin Bartlett Frazier, Carroll County Commissioner (Westminster, MD)-On Tuesday U.S. District Court Judge William D. Quarles Jr. signed an injunction barring prayer at government meetings in Carroll County, Maryland. In defiance of that order, County Commissioner Robin Bartlett Frazier-said to be "near tears"-opened Thursday's budget meeting reading a prayer by George Washington (see transcript below). Said Frazier: "I'm willing to go to jail over it. I believe this is a fundamental [right] of American[s] and if we cease to believe that our rights come from God, we cease to be America. We've been told to be careful. But we're going to be careful all the way to communism if we don't start standing up and saying 'no.'" Afterwards, on her Facebook Page, Frazier wrote: "I'll say more soon, but for now I just wanted to say thank you for all the expressions of love, support and encouragement that I have received all day long. There have been more pm's, texts, emails, and calls than I can keep up with. But every one has been read and all of them mean so much to my family and me." This is the prayer by George Washington, Frazier read: "Oh Lord our God, most mighty and merciful Father, I, thine unworthy creature and servant, do once more approach thy presence. Though not worthy to appear before thee, because of my natural corruptions and the many sins and transgressions which I have committed against thy divine majesty; yet I beseech thee, for the sake of Him in whom thou art well pleased, the Lord Jesus Christ, to admit me to render thee deserved thanks and praises for thy manifold mercies extended toward me: for the quiet rest and repose of the past night; for food, rainment, health, peace, liberty, and the hopes of a better life through the merits of thy dear Son's bitter passion. And, oh kind Father, continue thy mercy and favor to me this day, and ever hereafter; propose all my lawful undertakings; let me have all my directions from thy Holy Spirit and success from thy bountiful hand. Let the bright beams of thy light so shine into my heart, and enlighten my mind in understanding thy blessed Word, that I may be enabled to perform thy will in all things, and effectually resist all temptations of the world, the flesh and the devil. Preserve and defend our rulers in church and state. Bless the people of this land, be a Father to the fatherless, a Comforter to the comfortless, a Deliverer to the captives and a Physician to the sick. Let thy blessings guide this day and forever through Jesus Christ in whose blessed form of prayer I conclude my weak petitions. Our Father." |

Many people know the Scripture today regarding good gifts. They understand that all good gifts are from God. But, let's take it a few steps further;
* If you have God in you as you are supposed to as a Christian, what kind of gifts are you to give out? When you don't?
* Secondly, what is the opposite of that? Where do bad gifts come from? In Christ, In Scripture there can be only one answer. The evil one.
Let us focus today on giving out ONLY good gifts to those around us. If these gifts come out of our mouths, let us focus on controlling our tongues as James says, so that the evil does not come out.
