Lawn Services
Pictured at right is my wife on our largest mower.
Notice the nice striping pattern on the lawns we
mow. This is our 60" Exmark Lazer Z. Most lawns cannot take a mower larger than this due to our terrain being somewhat hilly.
Efficiency Saves You Money
Unfortunately it is rare for a landscaper to put one of these into his business model, except for some who use it for billing. All our scheduling is computer assisted. This means that once we start mowing your lawn, adjusting for weather conditions, we can predict with some degree of accuracy, and route accordingly when your grass is due to be cut. This saves you money! Also, during the slower parts of the season, say Spring and Fall and the Dry Spell in Summer, when your grass does not grow on that once a week schedule. We automatically have adjusted. So we don't have just a Monday or Tuesday route. We route according to your grass's needs. More thought, more savings and efficiency for you.
The Best Equipment, Backed by the Best Service
Here's one reason only commercial equipment is good for commercial work. No homeowner level equipment could do this. Once we saw a contractor using a Sears Tractor for his work. Understand they are made to do your lawn 20 times or so a year. We may do that many in 2 days or so! Insist that your contractor tells you what kind of equipment he has. If it is not commercial equipment backed by a good commercial dealer, you may wonder where he is some day, and the answer may be ' broken down for a few days'. We use BETHEL POWER EQUIPMENT for our sales and service. They stand ready for me with a quick, sometimes almost instant turn around, and a loaner program for guys like me. Can your service tell you that about their dealer?
Dare to Compare
A full service company offers your lawn many things.
• One is curb appeal. After all mowing is finished all drives, road fronts, sidewalks, steps, decks, and other ground level areas are blown clear of all clippings. Here professional blowers also make quick work of the job.
• Another is the lawn striping mentioned elsewhere on this site. A professional mower with stripping cut and equipment. Yes, it costs us more, but it sets your lawn out from many others.
• A good lawn service inspects your lawn and moves and removes items as needed before the mowers come on board. In the Fall this may mean blowing the leaves off of drives etc. BEFORE we mow, so the mower(s) can vacuum them up. Some times this will mean removing storm damage before we mow.
• A good lawn service has experience and can keep your shrubs and small trees shaped and pruned properly. They can check and do this throughout the season as needed, and with the mowing to reduce costs to you.
• A good lawn service also keeps up on the proper fertilizing at the proper time. Relying not just on one type of fertilizing, but using the best of all worlds. Organic, Non-Organic, Pelletized and Liquids at the best time and benefit for you.
• WE OFFER ONE THING MORE THAN THAT.... over the years we have met many good contractors working on peoples property. The best ones, we are proud to refer for home carpentry, handyman work, arborist work and the such. We call them "Proven Good Partners". Proven by our customers and our observations to offer you the best values and service.

Doing The Right Thing
When your lawn is properly finished, only commercial string trimmers can give the quickest, most efficient cut. Did you know that to keep in compliance with Cleaner Air Standards, all two cycle equipment MUST use the mid-grade gasoline. Does your operator look like he respects the environment? We not only use mid-grade fuel in our two cycle equipment, but also in our mowers for that extra protection for the air you breathe around your property. Yes, it costs us a little more, but it is the right thing to do. I find it's pretty amazing to be in the green industry and not try to respect the environment!
By the way, these are actual pictures of properties that we have done. The top one in Bethel, the one to this side in Brookfield. Notice the cross stripe pattern on the one in Brookfield. Did you know that you should never repeat the same mowing pattern two mowings in a row? It wears the same spots and does not give relief to those weak spots in your lawn.
Why Wait for Brand X To Learn How To Do it Right?
This is a poorly kept curb. This customer was across from one of our customers and had a professional service for his lawn. On top of it, he could only communicate with his landscaper for corrections on the rare occasion that one who spoke English was working that week. He later joined up with us and has been with us for several years now. His neighbors curb? See below:
Why Wait For a Realtor to Tell You About Curb Appeal ?
This was the appearance of the curb across the street. If you have a good lawn service, it should never look like the curb above, OR have grass clippings out in the street when the job is over.
One of our points of service is Clean Curbs. If you said #1 you were right. All the other curbs are hopelessly cluttered in this neighborhood!
Your Service Should Have a Variety of Equipment
Just Enough, But Not Too Much
Many lawn care services use only the large mowers at the top of the page, we have a 21" walk behind, and this 48" walk behind. They perform best on smaller properties and are particularly needed on hills. If your service does not have at least 3 different sized mowers, he will take too long to work, skid around a lot on hills, or have to do much extra work to make up for it. Again, it should be professional equipment and the right sized equipment to cost you the least.  I love the guys that do big estates. They have three big machines on their trailer, but only one is working when they do your lawn. Who do you think pays for the guys and equipment that is just standing around. You know the payment clock still keeps ticking! All my people are trained in efficiency, to flow from one part of the job to another and to all finish at about the same time..... it's part of our system.

Rain Rain Go Away!  The Right Equipment Matters Here Too!
You know every day is not perfect, sometimes it rains. This can affect our schedule. HOWEVER, in a very light, or very quick rain, our commercial equipment can get back in action WITHOUT clumping your grass in piles. Again, no homeowners equipment can say this.
We can go back to work under these conditions fairly quickly. Well, even if my wife is chicken, the equipment can handle it!
Often The Neighbors Talk About How Good Our Job Looks
While enjoying another Brookfield home that we have done, notice the striping? How would your home look with such a groomed and well fertilized lawn?
A Family Business Means the Owner is On Every Job
Did I mention that this is a family business. The owner is always on the job. This makes a huge difference in how the job is done or not done. It's pretty hard to hide things from the boss. Here is my son trimming with one of our professional Echo Trimmers. He's a big boy, but boy is he strong when we need it. Like cleaning up the storm damage last October!
Professionals Change the Pattern Each Week
Finally, one of my proudest pictures. This is the back yard of a lawn we have done since the beginning. Notice the cross striped pattern and fineness of cut. When the grass gets dry in the summer, these patterns can last for weeks. No, we did not cut it twice. This is a week after week accumulation. It really shows up the changing pattern each week. People who run the same pattern week after week not only couldn't do this, but they also would have some bad spots in your lawn.
Experience and Dedication to Innovation and Customer Service
There are many extras that we take into consideration when performing our lawn services. Some go unnoticed. Here is an example of one.
Since we already have a back pack blower on, clearing your sidewalks, drives, decks etc. why not blow cobwebs off of your house at the same time? Here, I am caught doing just that. It is more an exposure of the way we think to serve you. It is putting the customer first and using experience and Yankee Ingenuity to make it better. No one else takes the time and thought to do it better! And if they do, chances are we will take their good ideas and improve upon them. That is our promise. I hope you call us with ALL of your homeowner needs.

The Best Lawns, Stifle Weeds, Promote Thick Grass Growth
LAWN FERTILIZING While many services offer lawn fertilization programs, seldom do they offer one or the other or a mix of remedies for your lawn. We use not only liquids, pictured here, but also pelletized at the right time and right blends for your lawn. We offer organic, lime. liquid and pelletized blends. This gives full growing, great lawns a chance to grow and grow well without weeds. Usually ours is a four or five step program throughout the growing months and depending on weather conditions.
And don't forget those shrubs. They need feeding too!
